Moved images to commons
[edit]Hi, the who images listed above have been moved to Commons and is available as Image:India Gate.jpg and Image:Queen Victoria memorial, Kolkata.jpg so I'm deleting the "local" versions of them (we can use files from commons directly here). I would also suggest that you move the rest of your photos there too (with more descriptive filenames), that way all the Wikimedia projects can benefit from them and they don't risk deletion if they are not used in any articles because while Wikipedia is not a image repository Commons is exactly that ;-) --Sherool (talk) 16:10, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Zudeo.com
[edit]A tag has been placed on Zudeo.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
Please see Wikipedia:Notability (web). -- Fan-1967 02:37, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Many websites claim to be significant because of new technology, or new marketing methods, or because they are about a significant subject. None of these factors are relevant to the standards set at Wikipedia:Notability (web). I recommend you read those standards.
- The simple fact is that, since grokster, there have been untold thousands of startups of file-sharing websites. The measure of their notability is in their staying power, and the attention they receive from the market and the public. This site has yet to demonstrate either. Fan-1967 04:47, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Again, the newness of the concept is irrelevant. What the new article has, not in the previous version, is indication of serious attention from the press. You didn't actually bother to read the Notability definition above, did you? Fan-1967 06:44, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Mac Pro
[edit]I have left a more detailed response on the SuperDrive talk page, but here is a summarized answer for your question:
- Mac Pro uses IDE for optical drives.
- There are 2 SATA ports near the optical drive cage.
- You should be able to use those ports for HDD. Freedomlinux 01:22, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Boc-tower2.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Boc-tower2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:41, 14 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 10:41, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit]A {{prod}} template has been added to the article JAlbum, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Whispering 11:44, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Foreign Correspondents' Club, Hong Kong
[edit]A tag has been placed on Foreign Correspondents' Club, Hong Kong requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ukexpat (talk) 18:49, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello MichaelJanich! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 5 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Orphaned non-free media (File:Noble Group Logo.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Noble Group Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:10, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Primou has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Due to lack of critical attention, evidence of major impact or other significant coverage in independent, reliable sources, this software appears to fail WP:GNG and WP:NSOFT.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Primou is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Primou (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Laura Doyle (Author) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Laura Doyle (Author), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?)
